AstraOmics Opens Office at Bioworks

October 5, 2011

Announced in early October, AstraOmics Laboratories has leased 561 square feet of office and laboratory space in the UT Baptist Research Park.

Founded by Francesco Giorgianni, AstraOmics is a new service laboratory specializing in protein, peptide and free amino acid analysis and quantification. AstraOmics offers fast and high quality Amino Acid Analysis (AAA) services of free or bound amino acids in a variety of samples. The analyses are carried out by Ph.D-level scientists, according to GLP standards, on a Hitachi L-8900 amino acid analyzer, using ion exchange chromatography followed by post-column derivatization with ninhydrin.

With the addition of AstraOmics, the Bioworks’ incubator space has reached nearly 80% capacity.
